SuperSwell is an independent production and advisory company based in Los Angeles and New York, founded by producer Claire Brooks.

Through SuperSwell Films, we develop and produce vividly entertaining films about people living at the fault lines of culture. Combining singular creative vision with disciplined production strategy, our work is culturally specific, emotionally resonant, and built to reach far beyond the expected audience.

Through SuperSwell Advisory, we provide strategic counsel to select organizations and leaders shaping the future of storytelling. We help develop ideas, forge meaningful partnerships, and build the structures that allow ambitious creative work to grow and endure.

Founder

Claire Brooks

Claire Brooks is an independent producer and creative executive working across film, television, and global production strategy. She previously served as Director of Production at Stephanie Allain’s Homegrown Pictures under its first-look deal with Warner Bros. Television. There, she produced Exhibiting Forgiveness, which premiered in competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and developed a slate of projects with a particular focus on literary adaptation and intellectual property.

Before joining Homegrown, Claire co-designed and launched the Netflix Emerging Filmmaker Initiative, producing six original short films and establishing a first-of-its-kind, filmmaker-centered incubator and career accelerator within a major Hollywood studio.

Claire currently serves as Executive Director of the Association of Film Commissioners International, leading a network of more than 280 film offices across 50 countries. Her work centers on organizational transformation, systems modernization, strategic partnerships, and the expansion of research and educational opportunities. She represents AFCI around the world, advancing global collaboration and helping strengthen the creative infrastructure and production capacity of screen industries worldwide.

Claire began her career at Illumination Entertainment, where she coordinated global creative marketing campaigns for Despicable Me 2, The Lorax, and The Secret Life of Pets. She’s incredibly proud that some of her earliest work was strategizing how to turn the Minions into global superstars and influencers and it was a success! Her cross-sector career has also included conceptualizing global marketing partnerships for the NBA, producing experiential activations for Nike, and helping open the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

Claire is a graduate of NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study and holds an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University’s School of the Arts. She is a 2025–2026 Women In Film Creative Producing Fellow and a 2026–2027 Film Independent Netflix Amplifier Fellow. Originally from New York, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter.
